Last one for the night, maybe the best. Thurston Moore’s guitar playing is what makes this cover so interesting, but the bass manages to anchor the song in long stretches without drums while still being extremely emotive. I wish it were twice as long.
The Beck internet rabbit hole is one of the best internet rabbit holes. This cover is wonderful. It’s so nice.

Hurry LP
I posted about Matt’s solo project Hurry before, and I’m posting again because Matt just finished tying the ribbon around eight great songs. “Tying the ribbon” is a common phrase people use to say they are finished something. I definitely didn’t make that phrase up. A ribbon cutting, I guess, is when you are about to begin. Matt cut the ribbon on this project a few months back, and a few months later he’s tying a ribbon around the first Hurry release.
